Billy Cobham returns to Krakow and will be accompanied by m.in Polish celebrities – pianist Adzik Sendecki and violinist Adam Bałdych and bassist Linley Marthe.
Billy Cobham is the King of Fusion drummers, perhaps the most famous and award-winning jazz drummer in the world today. He recorded epochal albums with Miles Davis (m.in. “Bitches Brew”), founded The Mahavishnu Orchestra with John McLaughlin and led his group Spectrum, with which “Adzik” Sendecki performed in the early 1980s, which marked the beginning of his international career.
Adam Bałdych is a Polish violinist and composer, an innovator who combines classical music with improvisation. Associated with the ACT label, he records and performs all over the world with artists such as: Yaron Herman, Joachim Kuhn, Agata Zubel, Cezary Duchnowski, Helge Lien, Aaron Parks, Lars Danielsson, Nils Landgren, Iiro Rantala, Marius Neset, and Jacob Karlzon.
Vladislav Sendecki is a Polish pianist, composer, arranger and producer, who moved to Germany in 1995. Founder of “Extra Ball” and “Sunship”, he has collaborated with artists such as Jaco Pastorius, Lenny White, Marcus Miller, Michael and Randy Brecker, Joe Henderson, Michał Urbaniak, Tomasz Stanko, Peter Herbolzheimer, Buster Williams, Till Bronner, Bobby McFerrin, NDR Big Band with Al Jarreau.
Linley Marthe is the last of Joe Zawinul’s great bassists, who himself called Marthe a phenomenon. Originally from Mauritius, he delighted audiences around the world with his musicality. He has performed with Omar Hakim and Jean Luc Ponty, m.in others, and has recently toured with the Billy Cobham Band.
