Jerzy Małek Quartet

Jerzy Małek is a valued trumpeter, composer, arranger and academic lecturer. He graduated with honours from the Jazz Department of the Academy of Music in Katowice. He has performed and recorded with Zbigniew Wegehaupt, Michał Urbaniak, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Janusz Muniak, Tomasz Szukalski, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Wojciech Karolak, Cezary Konrad, Leszek Możdżer and Sinfonia Varsovia. Winner of the Grand Prix of the Jazz Juniors competition in 1999 in Krakow and the individual award of Jazz on the Odra in 2000. He leads his own ensembles: Quartet, Quintet and Jerzy Małek Group. He is also active as a composer of film and theatre music.
