Yelsy Heredia Trio (Cuba)

We warmly invite you to the concerts of the Yelsy Heredia Trio organized in
cooperation with the Cervantes Institute in Krakow. It’s a musical tribute
the Cuban school of the double bass, and in particular its
the most outstanding representative, Israel “Cachao” López (1918,
Havana – 2009, Florida), an icon and master of music
Reinterpreted. _Cachao is alive! _prezentuje his work by creating
innovative soundscape that transcends borders,
full of exuberant Cuban rhythms and timeless melodies.

The influence of Cachao, growing beyond the framework of classical Cuban
Danzón and Descarga species, is combined here with the possibilities of
double bass. Yelsy Heredia, acting as a medium,
creates a soundscape in which the double bass sings, speaks, cries,
Celebrates. Each of the musical themes seems to have been created just
for this instrument, exploring its sonic possibilities and
moving them to the border between the human and the divine.

He lives in _Cachao! _ Yelsy revives and adapts the classic works of Cachao and
Charanga Típica, also presenting new, original
compositions, which are a kind of tribute to the cult trio created by
by Bebo Valdés, Patato Valdés and Cachao.

Yelsy Heredia is accompanied on this musical journey by two
exceptional figures: the outstanding pianist Adrián Estévez and the virtuoso
drums by Moisés Porro.

The band will perform in Krakow on July 6 twice: during Sunday
Orleańska, on Szczepański Square, during the concert
beginning at 5:00 p.m., and in the evening, at 9:30 p.m., in Harris
Piano Jazz Bar.
