Tomasz Kudyk – New Bone

Tomasz Kudyk is an excellent trumpeter, composer, arranger, leader, respected teacher, professor in the trumpet class of the Academy of Music in Krakow. From the beginning of his career, he has been cooperating with jazz artists, poetic song artists and theatre people. Since the end of the 90s, he has been leading the group New Bone (current line-up: Marcin Konieczkowicz, Dominik Wania, Maciej Adamczak, Dawid Fortuna), with which he has recorded seven albums; the latest, “Sorrow”, is currently presented in various cities in Polish. During the Summer Jazz Festival Kraków, the band will perform the repertoire from this album. Tomasz Kudyk’s style of playing, derived from the tradition of modern jazz trumpeters (m.in. Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard), is saturated with lyricism, melancholy, full of spatial phrases and rich colours. The artist attaches great importance to the artistic level of his productions, with which he wants to reach the widest possible audience – communicativeness, clarity of musical language and sound are an absolute priority for him.
