Adam Kawończyk

Krakow trumpeter, composer, leader. He made his debut in 1975 at the Jazz on the Odra Festival, where he won an individual award. In 1979-84 he was a member of Jarek Śmietana’s Extra Ball. He played with Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski’s Made in Poland, the band Sami Swoi, performed with Janusz Muniak, Krzysztof Ścierański, Marek Bałata, led his own bands; He is also a valued studio musician. During this year’s festival, he will perform with his Quintet. Adam Kawończyk is the only Polish trumpeter who, together with the musicians of the group Extra Ball, visited Miles Davis at his home in New York.
