Groovosophers meets Satish Robertson (USA/Poland)
The Groovosophers band is an electrifying mix of jazz, funk and improvisation – jazz fusion in its most organic and energetic version.
The group consists of:
Tomasz Karaszewski – tenor saxophone,
Filip Wyrwa – electric and acoustic guitar, guitar synthesizer
Grzegorz Madej – Hammond organ, synthesizers
Marcin Essen – bass guitar
Grzegorz Bauer – drums.
On March 22, 2025, the band’s debut album was released, and in the summer the band will go on an international concert tour of Central Europe in septecia, which will see them play in seven countries: Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary and Slovakia.
In addition to the 30th Summer Jazz Festival in Krakow, the band will also play at the 25th Zelenkovac Jazz Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The band is going on tour with two special guests (who took part in the recording of the band’s debut album):
Satish Robertson – trumpet – New York virtuoso, known for his performances with the James Carter Quintet and associated with the Brooklyn jazz scene. His playing is characterized by fire, sophistication and unpredictability
Patryk Zakrzewski – percussion – leading Polish percussionist, cooperating, m.in others, with Ula Dudziak and Mika Urbaniak. His playing adds extra color and rhythmic multi-layered to the band
Groovosophers concerts are a musical journey through groove, trance and expression – an excellent proposition for both jazz and open improvised music lovers. The band is perfectly at home both on club stages and outdoor festivals.
